Hello Parents and Families!
Multicultural Fair is in full swing! We’ve had a few wonderful speakers already, and we’ve got more lined up!
Thanks go out to David Malcolm for coming in yesterday - David Malcolm and his family are LONG time residents of the Mack School neighborhood, and David is now a realtor. He had tons of great information about growing up in Ann Arbor and the real estate market in Ann Arbor. We tried to record the presentation - it’s a little choppy and the sound quality isn’t great, but here it is.
Thanks go out to Rick Hall for talking today - Rick came in and talked about the history of Ann Arbor Open school.
The kids are working hard on their projects. They’re learning how to research and delve deeper into topics to find more information rather than just trivial knowledge. They’re learning how to plan out their projects thoughtfully and carefully before just diving in. There’s a lot of really great work going on!
Speaking of projects...we do have a wish list of stuff needed for our projects. If you’re willing and able to donate some supplies, we’d really appreciate it! Thanks!
It will be exceptionally helpful for you to talk to your child a lot about their Multicultural Fair work over the next couple of weeks. Everyone is working on a project that is relatively ambitious, and managing such an undertaking benefits from a lot of conversation. Here are some specific things to ask your child about their project:
